Most of you know composer/improviser Chris Cobilis from The Tigers, smRts and Sabre Tooth Tigers, but Cobilis has been performing live music since 1997 with guitar, samplers, tapes, toys, radios and just about anything else he could find that makes a sound. Over the years he has contributed original music to film, dance and theatre and as an improviser has performed internationally including two tours of Taiwan and three in Japan – most notably collaborating with the Taiwanese composer Kueiju Lin for The Scarecrow Contemporary Dance Company and M.O.V.E Theatre Group. From his solo performance at This Is Nowhere, expect elements of pop music that forcibly juxtaposes indie rock and serious improvisation.
